Wise Bodymind is Moving!

Dear friends, clients, and colleagues,

I have some very exciting news! As of September 1, 2018, I will have a new office, located in the Druid Chase office park at 2801 Buford Highway, Suite 501, Atlanta, GA 30329.

The Decatur location (pictured) has been wonderful for many years, and I am so grateful to have had a clean, beautiful shared space in which to build my practice and introduce so many of you to CranioSacral Therapy. As many of you know, however, we have recently had some issues with noise and parking, and accessibility has always been an obstacle for some due to the stairs. The new space will address all of these issues, with ample free parking, multiple elevators, and no noisy playground or public walkway right outside! It is also easier to access from multiple areas of Metro Atlanta and from I-85 specifically.

If you have any questions about the move, please do not hesitate to reach out. I hope that, after a short period of settling in, all of us will benefit from this change, and I look forward to working with you in the new location!

Warmest regards,

P.S. Clients who are scheduled for appointments during the first week of September, please bear with me as I make the space ready for you. I will reach out individually in advance of your appointment to let you know where our session will take place.

Doing What You Want

Good morning, friends! Today I’m writing to you from my home, looking out the window at a rather unusual sight for the Atlanta area: snow-covered rooftops and a street riddled with patches of ice. So, I’m planning on being home all day today and possibly tomorrow as well.

Normally, this wouldn’t be a problem, but I had plans for this weekend. Some of you were going to share in those plans, since they included presenting the Upledger Institute’s two day Introduction to CranioSacral Therapy class at the Heal Center. I love sharing CST with students, so having to make that call to reschedule the class was a major bummer, doubly so when I found out that the next weekend our classroom would be available wasn’t until April.

And yet, this situation brings with it an unexpected bright point: free time.

5 Common Myths about SomatoEmotional Release

Hello, and welcome back! Now that I’ve given you an idea about who I am as a practitioner and written a bit about the principles of CranioSacral Therapy, it’s time to move on and explore an especially fascinating aspect of CST: SomatoEmotional Release, or SER for short.

What is SER, you may ask? It’s a process that people sometimes enter during a CST session. It involves the whole body (really, the body/mind/spirit/psyche, if we’re going to cover all our bases here) and is a way to release trauma that has been “walled off” in the body.

CranioSacral Therapy: What Sets It Apart?

“My belief is that somewhere inside of you is the answer to every question that can be asked about you. My concern is that we make a connection with that part of you that knows the answers, and that those answers can be shared with us and used for the good of the total you.”
~Dr John Upledger, 'Your Inner Physician and You'

Hello, and welcome back! I’ve been pondering what to share with you next and decided to write another introductory post, focusing less on my story and more on the work I actually do. Chances are, you’re here because you’re either curious about trying CranioSacral Therapy, or you’ve already tried it and want to know more.

So, what is CST, and what sets it apart from other forms of bodywork?

CranioSacral Therapy. Most people haven’t heard of it, and many who have may still not understand what it is, much less why someone would choose such a seemingly obscure field as their life’s work.
